Michigan State Filing
On the return a listing of localities in Michigan is shown. Taxes were collected for Detroit, but Detroit is not listed on the locations...why and what do I do?

Detroit requires you to file a tax return if you owe tax, are due a refund, or your income (residents) or wages (part-year or nonresidents) exceeds your exemption allowance. City residents should also file a return if you file a federal return even if you do not owe City tax to eliminate unnecessary correspondence from the Michigan Department of Treasury.
In the Michigan section, TurboTax will ask you whether you need a Detroit City return.
TurboTax does not e-file the Detroit City return. You will have to file the City return by mail (though Michigan can be e-filed). Mailing instructions are at the bottom of Form 5118.
