Massachusetts Schedule B Error: Requires Adjustment Not Yet Finalized

As far as I can tell, all forms for Massachusetts except 8582 (which does not apply to this issue) have been released for filing as of Feb. 3, but I still receive an error on Schedule B, Line 10 that notes: "This form may require an adjustment that has not been finalized for this release. You must obtain an update before you file your return in order to ensure that all calculations are correct."

I know this issue has popped up in other states like CA, NY, and MD, for various reasons. Is there any idea why this error appears here for MA, or when it may be fixed and finalized?

Having the same issue here. If anyone has a work around can you please share?!

I've spoken to Turbo Tax 3 times, each time they say the "upcoming patch will correct the error message". TurboTax suggested I file my federal separate but I can't delete my state return to do that. Super frustrating. I saw someone say a new patch is coming 2/24 - hopefully that does it but I'm losing hope and patience.

@Okirby

There are a few workarounds that have been posted. Go back to the beginning of this chain of responses.  Scroll though and you should find them. If you can’t, let me know and I’ll be more specific on where to look. Hopefully this will be fixed soon and you won’t need a workaround.

I had to  split and upload 35 separate CSV files with <100 transactions to get it to work.

I used CSV Splitter: https://www.erdconcepts.com/dbtoolbox/csvsplitter/csvsplitter.zip from https://stackoverflow.com/questions/37386246/split-large-csv-file-and-keep-header-in-each-part

UPDATE: Splitting let me get past the review process, but I could not E-File due to a transmit error.  They have no clue what's going on.

Same issue here 😑

Large number of transactions from options trading and no response from Turbotax Twitter support and was put on hold for 45 min+ before I just hung up.  Intuit-- please fix this!

Exactly the same problem - I've contacted TurboTax support on twitter with the details and a link to this thread, I'll update if I hear back.

Having the same problem have been a customer for a long time as well this is dissapointing we pay $150 for a product that doesn't even work. I called last Friday spoke with some support person and was told the bug would be fixed in 24-48 hours. 72 hours later still no fix hoping this 2/24 patch really does work. First the problem with the stimulus checks last year now this, TurboTax you know when tax season is why don't you have your product tested and ready day 1!! Called back today hung up on twice sent to buy more products from them another time, do they care about their customers?

Like others have said, this patch did work for me as well. Happy it finnally worked but still doesn't excuse the nearly 3 week delay we all experienced.

February 23, 2022

Same error on my end in NJ. My 1099-B is 100+ pages, no way I can fix this manually. Hopefully a fix comes soon!

February 23, 2022

Just heard the same thing, that an update is coming February 24th that will address this issue. Holding my breath...

February 24, 2022

Yoohoo - The Feb23/24 MA update fixed the problem for me. I am now able to print filing copies and eFile (haven't efiled yet).

HI everyone,

Just wanted to give everyone an update on my situation... it seems the patch that was released today FINALLY worked and I was able to e-file without the work around. Hopefully everyone else on here is able to, too! 🤞

Yep, all sorted me too. Finally!

Me too.

February 27, 2022

Given the weird issues with MA eFile rejection, I guess I'll keep the $20 that Intuit/Turbotax could have earned and pay the USPS to snail-mail my MA return instead. My printed MA return has no Schedule X. Keeping my fingers crossed.

February 28, 2022

Oddly enough, I was able to e-file my federal forms, but this error is preventing me from filing for MA.

@romanluis  or anyone else,  did you make any progress with their state error?  Or still in the dark?

So I submitted my federal and state 2 weeks ago state was rejected due to the schedule error, just went on there again and for some reason it quadrupled my capital losses?!? Is it fixed yet or?
