Question

It's been weeks - when will PA Schedule D TP be fixed?

For nearly a month I, along with many other Pennsylvanians, have been receiving an error on the website preventing us from filing our PA taxes. The error: "Schedule D TP: Net cap gain/loss We're still working on PA Schedule D for returns with great than 100 capital gain transactions. You'll need to get an update before you file your return in order to ensure that all of the calculations are correct. To receive an update, select Check for Updates from the online menu to connect to our website."

We keep getting the runaround from Turbo Tax whenever we contact customer support. Feb. 18th we were told it would be fixed in 48 hours. Then Feb. 21st they said a ticket was never filed, they'd file one now, check back in 48 hours. Then on Feb. 23, I was told a ticket was JUST submitted, a week should be "plenty of time" to fix the issue. In between, others have told me they've received all kinds of nonsensical responses from Turbo Tax. And still, we wait. Turbo Tax, can you give us a straight answer?

The customer service reps spoke with does not want to escalate the problem to technical support. wtf is going on with Intuit, I am going to short their stock before Q1 earnings call.

It's incredibly frustrating to check every day and see that I still cannot use a service I paid over $100 for. I'm not holding out hope that this gets fixed this week, and might have to mail it in I guess. I love the salt in the wound of not being able to get a refund since the online version won't allow it.

Wait. You won’t get a refund for the online version? I’ll contest the charge with my credit card company if they don’t provide the service they’re charging me for.

Just request a refund on their website. Thank god I used my AMEX card on this **bleep**, going to dispute the charge if they don't refund.

UPDATED: 03/01/2022 at 11:25 PM (EDT). I just got off the call with a TT specialist. They asked to monitor my screen to see what is the issue. I showed them the schedule D TP issue for PA tax. After waiting for while (he was looking up the issue), the answer was: "The e-file system of PA is having some issues, so it should be fixed from March 3, 2022 - March 5, 2022". So I asked where did he get that message (PA website? or?), and he said, he get it from internal TT system. Then, he proceed to close my case. Then, I asked what if I still get the same issue and cannot file after March 5?, He said: "you can open another case or you can file by mail"... what's a joke! I insisted that I want to e-file, that's why I paid TT. So, I guess I may have to open another case? The specialist is alright, not rude, but not very honest/knowing what is going. It is just that, This is the second time they postpone the problem, the first time was: "It will be fixed after February 28, 2022" Now, " It will be fixed after March 5, 2022". What's the f... is that? Is this how you guys doing business? by making promises?.... I have been using other tax software and switched to TT for a few years, and this is the worst experience/most unprofessional way of doing business.
TT: If you have problems with PA system, then ask them to send notification/announcements, or you can send it to your customers, so they know what's going on and plan ahead. We do not have time to check/call everyday to find an solution for the problem that we paid you guys to solve. Do not just take the money, then promise "the problem will be solved".

If after March 5, 2022, we still get the same issue, we should consider to take this problem to somewhere that we could get attention of the higher level people. Otherwise, this is going nowhere.

I have been checking since before 2/28/22. Now it's 3/2/22 and it's still NOT letting me e-file.

I do NOT and canNOT file by mail for personal reasons.

TurboTax, please get your stuff together.

P.S. Has anyone filed a complaint to the BBB?

No that is a good idea. Has anyone asked to speak with a supervisor? Or escalate the issue to a manager? We have to submit our taxes!!!!

They have a customer service number you have to call

Call AGAIN today and finally got an update that sounds promising. The customer service rep confirmed all our complaints and took the case higher since it hasn't been addressed. I was on hold for a while because he said his own people were giving him the run around, but he finally got an answer. For the past few weeks, Turbo Tax assumed the error was on PA's side and that everything would just eventually work. They realized on Feb. 28 that the error was in Turbo Tax's software, and not PA's fault. They began working on a patch March 1 and said it is expected to be completed sometime during the day on March 3.

I had the representative send me a refund request just in case it's not because if I can't file Friday, I'm not waiting around any longer and I'm going elsewhere. And after hearing all this, I think this will be my last experience with Turbo Tax.

Just checked. Still NOT letting me file. I'd imagine a bug in a tax-filing software that does not let customers file their taxes SHOULD be their HIGHEST priority... But here we are. Here we ALL are. Disappointed.

I just completed e-filing for PA state. You have to follow through with paying the state fee, then afterwards go to the ONLINE TAB on TT, then DOWNLOAD STATE. Then UPDATE. At least, that's what worked for me.

03/03/2022 at 3:04 AM (EDT). The problem with schedule D TP for PA tax return is FIXED. I was able to e-file my federal and PA state tax with ONLINE version. Some people said it worked with their DESKTOP version too. Thus, I think the problem is FIXED. I am glad that I am with you guys in this community to figure out/get TT attention to fix the issue. Well done!
