Hello I was sent an Income Execution Letter in March, this was the first I had heard of this. I called NY Tax and Finance and they stated they have been sending notifications to my old address for 2 years! They did have in their system that all letters were returned to their dept. I spent 2 hours on the phone reviewing the Levy and they stated it was from 2014.

Today I received and Release of Income Execution notice. What does this letter mean?

An income execution is a type of levy that may be issued against your wages if you fail to resolve your tax debt. We will ask you to voluntarily pay up to 10% of your gross wages each time you're paid. If you don’t make voluntary payments, we'll have your employer automatically deduct up to 10% of your gross wages from your paycheck and send it to us. The income execution remains in effect until the outstanding tax liability is satisfied. then a release of income excecution is issued to stop the garnishment

Thank You! Its just very surprising and from so long ago.

I did receive a letter - a release of income execution. It states "Take note that the income execution served upon you is hereby released and said income execution is hereby withdrawn and of no further force and effect"

Am I to assume now that this matter is resolved?
