In the 'I have read the certification above and agree' section,

I can check the Spouse checkbox but not the Taxpayer checkbox.

Please advice.

Thanks.

Having the same issue, called support, they had me reinstall the software, same problem now. I was able to file federal forms. They told me if issue persisted I would have to print and mail my NY return.

I have the same issue here. I can't continue. Is it a bug in the software?

I checked for updates, downloaded them, and was able to successfully e-file my NY return.

Yes. I agree, it seems to be fixed after downloading updates. You would think Intuit would monitor this site for similar problems- or is that wishful thinking.

Same issue. Very Frustrating. How can Intuit charge for a program that doesn't work for New York? Fraud

Just spent a long time with support. Had me install a downloaded version of Turbotax which did not work. Same error. Then he had me install a downgraded version and try to download the state file, which did not download. Then he tried to tell me the problem was with my computer, maybe too many programs running or a virus. I insisted nothing else had a problem except turbotax and it was a bug. At this point I was hung up on.

    Two things:

    • It looks like TurboTax has accepted that this is a bug and plans to have it fixed on or around 4/2/2020.
    • I found a workaround for my situation and filed my NY return. In case anyone else had the same situation, here's a quick description: My wife and I were part-year residents of NY in 2019 and she was the only one of the two of us with NY wage income, so I indicated that only she ("Spouse" on our federal return) had NY-based income. That's what I think caused the problem. So I went back and said that we both had NY income and that solved the problem! Nothing else changed, and once I worked through some odd stuff regarding 2020 estimated taxes, I was able to e-file successfully. So this could be a workaround for anyone in the same or similar situation who doesn't want to wait for the TT fix...

Great news, I will wait and hope for the Fix. I had printed my return to mail, but of course NY does not want to accept mailed returns if you calculated electronically. You are probably onto something with only 1 NY source income as I have the same problem as a non-resident and my spouse has NY income. I am not willing to say I have NY income just to file.

    Thanks
