Why is 1099-MISC for current year show $0 in the wages and income screen?

I use Turbotax Premier for the mac.  In the 2024 tax year, on easystep screen for wages and income,in the income from form 1099-misc,  it shows a non-zero value for the prior year 2023 but shows $0 for 2024 even though I entered a number during the interview.  I think this is a continuing bug because I opened TT2023 and it shows a $0 value for 2023 and non-zero for 2022. Does anyone with TT mac also see this same thing?

Why is 1099-MISC for current year show $0 in the wages and income screen?

I'm using the Windows version, but mine always does that, too, each year.   I believe the reason is that the 1099-MISC income is not really a category in itself since it can represent several types of income, but is actually flowing to another section of TurboTax depending on the actual type of income it is associated with, such as rental income/royalty income/business income.   In the Windows version, if you hover your cursor over the $0, a popup tells me the income is reported elsewhere.  Also in my version there is a blue "Learn more" link that also mentions it being reported elsewhere.   Be sure after entering any income in the 1099-MISC topic, that you follow up by going to the topic for the type of income you entered--rental, royalty, business, etc.  And it should be included in the income amount showing in the 2024 column beside that topic.     I assume that in the following year's product it shows in the 1099-MISC prior-year column mainly to remind you that you had entries in that 1099-MISC topic last year.

Why is 1099-MISC for current year show $0 in the wages and income screen?

Thanks.  It just is confusing the way they implemented it.  It is not consistent to show one year one way and the current year another way.  Just makes people think something is wrong this year.

Why is 1099-MISC for current year show $0 in the wages and income screen?

Yes, it's easy to see how it can be confusing.  It puzzled me, too, a few years ago.

It's also possible to enter 1099-MISC income without using that 1099-MISC topic by simply going straight to the rental, royalty, or other relevant interview, and it asks there if one received a 1099-MISC.

Same problem here. Very bizarre 3/12/2025
