Is there an efficient way to file a 2021 tax return for an indigenous home repair & maintenance sole-proprietor, with zero expenses & net income of less than $3,000?

I'm indigenous to Nevada, residing at the Walker River Paiute Reservation suffering from the uneducated tribal administration's lack of comprehensive work. My goal is to receive the Recovery Rebate Credit, since I have not filed a 2021 tax return. Please help, as I am a friendly & humble American citizen.

TurboTax does not know who will receive the stimulus checks that the IRS is sending.   The IRS has identified some people who were eligible for the 3rd EIP payment who did not receive it and did not use the recovery rebate credit on their 2021 tax returns, so the IRS is sending out those payments.   You should check your online account with the IRS---many people received the 3rd stimulus before they filed their 2021 return, so they did not need to use the credit on their tax return.

Look at your online account with the IRS to see if they sent you $1400 in 2021.

If you could be claimed as someone else's dependent in 2021, you are not eligible for the payment.

If you were eligible and do not receive a payment soon from the IRS, the other way to get the payment is to amend your 2021 return to use the recovery rebate credit before April 15, 2025.   If you did not file a 2021 return at all, then prepare one and mail it in.

If you want to use TurboTax software----the desktop download can only by used on a full PC or Mac:

To file a return for a prior tax year

If you need to prepare a return for 2021, 2022, or 2023  you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign,  and mail the return(s)

https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.

Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

There might be other software companied offering 2021 software for lower prices.   Whatever you do, file the 2021 return no later than April 15, 2025 or you will not be able to get the $1400 recovery rebate credit.

As @xmasbaby0 has provided several useful links on this topic, the IRS reminds taxpayers who have not yet filed their 2021 tax returns that they may be eligible for a refund if they file and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit by the April 15, 2025, deadline.

Eligible taxpayers who did not file must file a tax return to claim a Recovery Rebate Credit, even if their income from a job, business or other source was minimal or non-existent.

TurboTax only has the current year available on TurboTax Online.

To file a 2021 return, you would need one of the desktop download or CD products. See here for more information about available product versions for tax year 2021.

Thank you for the downloadable links. I am still connected to the internet here where I am physically located, visiting in AZ. The real test will be when I go back home to Schurz, NV, where I do not have internet services at home. I hope and pray to God that I will be able to follow through with the effort to acquire and receive the Economic Impact Payment aka the Recovery Rebate Credit.

Thank you, also for the necessary help. I was not getting any help anywhere else, not even H&R Block. The lady employed at the only office in Kayenta, AZ, was rude and not willing to share any useful information with me or guidance for me. I am absolutely impressed by the tax community at intuit TurboTax esp, xmas_baby0 (level 15), soon to be "level 16".

Sincerely with American love from my heart,
