Question

CA LLC Form 568 (2025)?

I’m pretty livid. I just finished my 2025 taxes using TT Home & Business Desktop, only to find it doesn’t seem to do anything to fill out the California LLC Form 568. I don’t mean it doesn’t e-file it, as many on this forum have mentioned. I mean it didn’t ask me any questions pertinent to filling it out, it didn’t fill out a version of it for me to mail, nothing.

If I search for the form using Forms → Open a Form… I can find it and try to fill it out, but none of the computed fields can be filled out, and it doesn’t compute results. It certainly doesn’t carry over numbers from the federal forms.

Does TT even offer a product that does my state business taxes? I feel like I’m owed a refund from Intuit.

To enter California Form 568 (Limited Liability Company Return of Income) for a single-member LLC in TurboTax, you must first complete your federal business income (such as Schedule C) and then navigate through the California state section.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Complete Federal Income First:
    • Enter your business income and expenses under Federal Taxes before starting the state section.
  • Access California State Taxes:
    • Go to State Taxes and edit your Income and adjustments for California.
  • Navigate to Business Adjustments:
    • Proceed to the Business Profit or Loss Adjustment section to select the specific LLC for Form 568.
  • Answer Prompts and Populate Form 568:
    • Confirm the single-member LLC ownership, let TurboTax auto-populate data from your federal entries, and complete any highlighted required fields.
    • First-Year LLCs: Check Line H for "Initial Return" and complete the "First Year Exemption Smart Worksheet" if claiming an exemption

Thanks. I wish it had prompted me for this before I filed.
