Which specific box or boxes are you asking about. State information is in boxes 5, 6, and 7.

What state are you in? Does your state have state income tax?

Are you asking about a 1099-NEC that you received, or about a 1099-NEC that you are issuing to someone that your business paid for services?

Are you saying you received a state 1099-NEC? if whether it needs to be entered or not depends on the state. With some sates the federal amount is carried over to the stae so no additional entry is needed. However, if the state amount is different than the federal amount an adjustment would need to be made in the state section. Other state s may require this be entered in the state section. TO give you the best answer tell us the state. If this is not your question, please clarify.
