That total is the same whether you contribute to a Tradtional TSP or Roth TSP. The answer gets more complicated when talking about Traditional IRA and Roth IRA. In general, your participation in a TSP does not affect your eligibility to contribute to TIRA/Roth IRA's. However, contributing to a Roth TSP can affect your eligibility to contribute to a Roth IRA.

Elective deferral amounts for 2018 are $18,500. Catch up contributions for those 55 and over are $6,000. See link below for additional info on contribution limits.
