Why does Turbotax ask the name and date the benefactor/ decedent passed away in addressing an inherited IRA? Turbotax does not ask enough for it to determine the RMD.

Why does Turbotax ask the name and date the benefactor/ decedent passed away in addressing an inherited IRA? Turbotax does not ask enough for it to determine the RMD.

This information is used to determine whether or not TurboTax should ask if you or the decedent completed the decedent's year-of-death RMD, if any.
