Why did my Social Security income post to Pensions and annuties?

In order to show your Social Security income on the Social Security line of your Form 1040 tax return, you would need to enter it in the section for Social Security and not in the section for other pension income.

In TurboTax Online:

  1. Go to Wages and Income
  2. Under Retirement Plans and Social Security, select Show More
  3. Select Start next to Social Security

Return to the section where you previously entered the amount and delete the entry.
