West Virginia does not tax military retirement! There is no way I owe the state of WV $1802.

You need to enter your Military 1099-R in the Federal taxes section (or edit it if you've already entered it)

make sure all the boxes are correct on the main 1099-R form, then step thru the pages that follow it...carefully.

Picture #1 might show up to select WV ...but picture 2 is critical.  Look at it closely...you need to select the "Military Retirement"  And the "WV Distribution Amount"  is NOT a zero....that amount on that line is what WV uses to remove those $$ from your taxable WV income:  Then make sure you step thru any pages that follow picture 2 carefully.
