You should have received a Form 1099-R from the State of Connecticut reporting your pension benefits.
If you have not, per the State's Website on retirees and pensions there is a Q& A that says current and prior year forms 1099-R can be found on the Retiree Portal.
Click here for that link explaining how to get a replacement form 1099-R for the State of Connecticut Retirees. It also provides a customer service phone number you can call.
If you did receive a Form 1099-R from the State of Connecticut there are several ways to enter your Form(s) 1099-R in TurboTax.
When entering your income information for your federal tax return, when TurboTax asks you if you got a Form 1099-R, while you are going through the steps in the Federal Income section, answer Yes. TurboTax should guide you through entering your Form 1099-R. Enter it exactly as it is shown.
If you have passed that point you can also click Federal from the left side of your screen and scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security, and click on Show More, and click "Start or Edit /Add" next to IRA, 401K Pension Withdrawals. TurboTax will walk you through entering your Form 1099-R.
You can also do it the following way:
If you need to enter multiple Forms 1099-R, go to your IRA, 401K Pension Withdrawals section again and click on link that says Add Another 1099-R. On the next screen click on I'll enter it myself. TurboTax will ask you who this Form 1099-R belongs to select the appropriate person (i.e. spouse) and continue on entering your second Form 1099-R.
