This is a joint return "Taxpayer" (over 71) and "Spouse"(over 61) question. Filled out taxpayer's 1099-R for her IRA distributions. Then wanting to add a spouse 1099-R, the interview NEVER gave a check box for Spouse 1099-R and erroneously counts it as the Taxpayers. The Forms view shows the checkbox, "If Spouse's 1099-R, check this box" - screenshot attached. But saving the form doesn't save this choice once I go back to Easy Step. I can't find a work around.

Then you had better check to make sure you started your return as a joint return. Look in Personal Info and make sure that when you answered the question about being married that you said YES, and next when it asked you if you want to file together with your spouse you said YES.
When you are entering income like a 1099R, and you click to add a 1009R it will ask if the 1099R is for your or your spouse. Enter it under your spouse's name.
