why is box7 on w2 the same ammount as box 1?

also why is box 7 applied to me if I didnt report any tips?

If you earned tips and reported them, that is the amount in Box 7. Also, they include these tip amounts in Boxes 1 and 5. If you did not have tips you need to have your employer revise your W-2 accordingly.
