When entering teachers retirement pension (1099-R) into turbo tax, I am asked if this was an RMD. I assume "no" but the entry form cautions that this is uncommon. The money was just monthly pension from the Teachers Retirement of Texas.
Say Yes. When you receive a pension under the normal payout period figured by the pension administrator, it meets the RMD requirements.
