Switched jobs in 2021 and accidentally contributed more than is allowed to a 401(k). How do I fix this situation exactly?

It is already passed April 17, so I cannot handle this by simply requesting a corrective distribution.

Sorry ... but this cannot be fixed at this late date.  Sadly you will pay taxes on the excess contribution on the 2021 return  AND  again on the distribution later.  This is the penalty for not fixing this timely.
