SSA 1099 Benefit Statement,

If Social Security was your ONLY income you do not have to file a tax return.  If you have other income, yes, you enter your SSA1099.

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

SSA 1099 Benefit Statement,

Cant find what you have given as directions on how to enter the SSA-1099.

Where you show; Go to Federal> Wages & Income>> Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

My TurboTax 2022 says this;

Personal Info ---  Federal Taxes ---  State Taxes --- Review --- File. On to top tab line.

But just to move things along I go to Federal Taxes and find under that tab are 5 more Tabs, which are these;

Wages & Income --- Deductions and Credits --- Other Tax Situations --- Federal Review --- Smart Check.

So I go to "Wages & Income" and under that there are only 2 choices which are: "Walk me through Everything" and the other is: : "I'll choose what I want to work on."

Then the Back icon on the bottom left.

Nothing that says; "Retirement Plans and Social Security SSA-1099

All you see then under the Walk me through everything is a top to bottom list:

Import Summary,  Wages and Salaries,  1099-MISC and Other Common Income, which shows 1099-G, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, 1099-K.

Below that is Less Common Income; 1099-C, 1099-A, 1099-SA

Nothing on SSA-1099 that I can find?

Perhaps as I am single and have only Social Security and NO ASSETS  or other income other that SSA Benefits I also have a part time job which pays me less that SSA benefits do. Maybe TurboTax gets configured differently for my situation?

Cant figure it out at all.????

SSA 1099 Benefit Statement,

Click I'll choose what I want to work on.   That will take you to the screen with all the types of income you can enter.  Scroll down slowly and carefully and watch for the one that you need

 Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security  (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

SSA 1099 Benefit Statement,

Let's try to clear it up for you.

  1. First you would select your Federal tab in the menu on the left. Then you click on Wages and Income under Federal.  Once you click that scroll to Retirement Plans and Social Security
  2. Select Show more > Select Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099) > Click
    1. You may see a screen where you need to select 'Work on other income' right after you select Federal in the menu before you reach the other steps

You can also try using the search (upper right) > Type ssa1099 > click the Jump to... link.  See the image below.
