My son, under 18, receives Social Security
If I read it correctly I do not need to wait for a W-2.
Is that correct I do not have a W-2 coming?

You do Not enter a dependent's Social Security benefits reported on SSA-1099 on your tax return.  If the dependent has no other income they do not report the benefits received on a tax return.
