Since reporting the 1099-R would not change the amount you owe or the refund you're due, you're not required to amend your federal tax return. If you had some tax basis in the 401(k) from after tax contributions (it's not likely), I recommend amending the return just to maintain accurate records in TurboTax and with the IRS.
