Should an employer withhold social security tax if the employee is already on Social Security benefits.

Is income taxable once you are receiving Social Security Benefits?

Yes they always have to deduct Social Security & Medicare on wages no matter what age.  Income is always taxable.  And your Social Security benefits might be taxable too.

Up to 85% of Social Security becomes taxable when all your other income plus 1/2 your social security, reaches:

Married Filing Jointly: $32,000

Single or head of household: $25,000

Married Filing Separately: 0
