Thanks @dmertz . I'll file Form 4852 with Code J only and provide an explanation about Webull’s refusal to correct it. Is there anything specific I should include in the explanation to avoid IRS pushback?

I would just say that the original was coded incorrectly for a distribution of excess after the due date of the tax return.
