I had retirement monies, from a previous employer, that I rolled over into my 401k with my current employer. Do I need to put this on my 2019 tax form anywhere?

You should receive by end of January a form 1099-R from the administrator of the retirement plan of your previous employer.

On your tax return, you'll need to enter the 1099-R by following the following steps:

  • In TurboTax, open your tax return
  • Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Wages & Income on top of the screen
  • Scroll down to All Income, locate the section Retirement Plans and Social Security and click on Show more
  • Click Start next to IRAs, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R).
  • Follow the interview and carefully answer the questions. The rollover is not taxable.
