1099-R distribution code 7D

1099-R distribution code 7D annuity was paid with after tax money. The gross distribution amount on the 1099-R box 1 is being added to 1040 line 5a instead of the taxable amount on the 1099-R box 2a.  

I have verified that all information on the actual form 1099-R is entered (as far as I can tell) correctly within Turbotax 1099-R by looking at that specific 1099-R within Turbotax.

Line 5a of Form 1040 would report the gross pension plan distribution, not the taxable amount, that would appear on line 5b. 

To view your form 1040 and schedule 1 to 3:

1. Choose Tax Tools from your left menu bar in TurboTax Online while working in your program
2. Choose Tools
3. Choose View Tax Summary
4. See the Preview my 1040 option in the left menu bar and click on it
5. Choose the Back option in the left menu bar when you
