On the 1099-Misc. Why will it not let me enter the Social Security number instead of the EIN number. It says I can enter either but won't allow me to get past the EIN.

Not even sure why I am being asked for a 1099-MIsc. anyway.  I have never had to fill that out before

Okay, I think I know what is happening here.  On some of the 1099 entry screens, there is a box you must check on the 1099 to enter a SS# instead of an EIN.  Make sure this box is checked.
