Not able to file due to software issue: Traditional IRA box keeps getting checked, I uncheck and choose None of the Above, defaults back to checked box for Trad IRA FIX?

I have a 401K, not a trad - the 401K does not account, because it is employer sponsored and there is a match, right? then why does the Traditional IRA check box default to  checked?

The checkbox is being marked by TurboTax because you have made underlying entries that indicate that you have a traditional IRA.  Unmarking the checkbox does not cause TurboTax to remove the underlying entries.  You must instead indicate that you have traditional IRA, then go through the traditional IRA section to explicitly remove and traditional IRA contribution that you have entered.

The checkbox could also be marked if you have information in the IRA Information Worksheet that indicates that you have a traditional IRA separate from your 401(k) to which you have made contributions or rollovers in the past.

And...just guessing what you might have done...

...for your 401k contributions thru an employer's plan??  Those are ONLY entered where you entered your W-2 form, and its box 12 data.  You do NOT also enter those contributions again in the IRA section.
