My 1099 r shows a "total distribution". I did not receive the funds. They went straight into a CD. How do I correct this not to show taxable income?

Was the CD in another IRA or 401k account? If not then the 1099R is taxable now. What was the 1099R from? What code is in box 7? Was it transferred directly to the CD? It might be a Rollover to another IRA CD.

My relative will send me 15k from a foreign country as a gift. She would send it via bank transaction (not cash). Do I need to report it in form 3520? Is this taxable?
