Missing 1099 NEC

I just discover I am missing a1099 NEC and the company may have folded. I know the amount paid to me but I do not have their EIN number, what do I do?

Try contacting the company first.

If you can’t get hold of anyone, you can enter your income without a 1099-NEC.  In answering your question, I’m assuming you were self-employed (contractor, gig worker, etc.)

Here's how to enter your income without Form 1099-NEC:

1. Tap the Business tab
2. Then Business Income and Expenses
3. On “How do you want to enter your business income?” select “I’ll choose what I work on”
4. Start or update Profit or Loss from Business
5. Create a business or select Edit next to your existing business
6. On “Your xxxx Business” select Business Income
7. Enter the amount in General Income instead of 1099-NEC Income
