Louisiana does not make retired state employees pay income tax on retirement benefits, Using code 02E, but I cannot get this horrible program to realize that!!!

You have to tell TT that 1099-R is from the LA State Employees' Retirement Benefits (Code 02E).

Edit that 1099-R and be sure to enter LA in Box 13. A few screens later is Where Is This Distribution From? Select LA State Employees' Retirement Benefits (Code 02E).
