I have no 1099-R associated with my return (I'm not retired nor collecting a pension), yet my return keeps showing a pension distribution on line 5b.  How do I delete?

You may have inadvertently added a 1099-R to your return. Delete the 1099-R form.

  • If you're using TurboTax Online software and need to delete a form, click here.
  • If you're using TurboTax CD\Download software and need to delete a form, click here

Distribution is still there even after deleting 1099-R summary.  Turbotax seems to be importing the number from a previous filing (file).

Did you take a disaster distribution or a Coronavirus-Related Distribution in 2019 or 2020 from an employer plan and chose to include the income in equal parts over three years?  That would cause TurboTax to include on 2021 Form 1040 line 5b 1/3 of the original distribution.  That's the only way I know of that you could get an amount on line 5b without a a 2021 Form 1099-R being present.
