IRS Request for 1099

Turbo Tax did not prompt me to download 1099 that showed my tax witholdings, now IRS requests copy of 1099 and my refund is delayed!

Are you saying that you did not enter a tax form (the 1099-R) that you received? If you receive tax forms, you should enter them whether you are prompted to or not.

Yes, I entered SSA-1099s that showed tax withholdings.  Now I am mailing copies of SSA-1099s to IRS.

The IRS can, and does periodically, request documentation for amounts reported on your tax return.   You can upload documents in response to an IRS notice, phone conversation or in-person visit. Don’t use this tool to file a tax return.
