IRA question- it asks for my total Trad. IRA contributions.. and then says How much of the ABOVE total contribution for 2021 you contributed between 1/1/22 and 4/18/22??

I don't understand.  Isn't The amount I contributed in 2022 separate from 2021?  How could I make a contribution in 2022 for 2021?  I'm so confused.

You can make a contribution to your 2021 IRA until April 18, 2022.
