I received a 1099-G for a Taxable Grant and followed the directions in this thread on where to report it. The form only has Box 6 (Taxable Grant) populated, no other boxes exist on this form. When I add the amount listed in box 6 and submit this, it tells me there is an error and that I have to populate box 1, 2, etc with a value in turbo tax but those boxes doesn't exist on the form. How do i bypass this?
What program are you using? Desktop or online?
online
Here are sample screenshots of how to enter 1099-G Taxable Grants - I did not encounter a review error making this entry, or any prompt for information in Box 1
.Please check them against what you saw while entering your form. It may be a good idea to delete the Form 1099-G you entered and re-enter it. Update this post with your results.
I get the same error. Were you able to find a solution?
I followed these steps, but when I get Federal Review it indicates that it needs review and wants to force me to include an amount for unemployment and paid family leave
It sounds as if you entered the 1099-G for the Grand on the entry screen for a 1099-G for Unemployment.
Please see the answer above.
Both entry screens are under wages & Income, but they are two different sections.
If the 1099-G was first entered in the wrong section, you need to enter it in the correct section, but you also need to DELETE the entry you made in the Unemployment section.
Please scroll under Wages & Income to see what has been entered into the TurboTax program, and delete anything that shouldn't be there.

I did enter them in the right spots. I had unemployment to add as well and both went in their proper locations. I don't think turbo tax liked that I had two 1099-g forms and that one of the forms only had one section filled out.
I don't remember what I did to finally push it through, unfortunately, that was weeks ago. Thanks for the info! ☺️
I am STILL struggling with this 1099-G taxable grants. Both my husband and I received a taxable government grant. I have added them both to Other 1099-G Income 3 times now. It keeps coming back unaccepted by Turbo Tax and leads me to correct the Unemployment / paid family leave (1099-G) which we also have listed in income. I have deleted all in Tax Tools and started over. HELP??
