I got a reduced refund with a treasury offset code, but the treasury said I don't have an offset tied to my social security number. How do I resolve this?

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS) will send you a “offset notice“, with details on adjustment that includes the amount and agency to which you owe the debt.

Did you file a Joint return? If so, could the offset be for your Spouse?
