i contribute to bright start. turbo tax says it will prompt me to enter my contributions under the deduction section for my state taxes, but it isn't. what do i do

If you are referring to the Illinois 529 plan contributions, you can find it by going through your Illinois return and looking for the screen titled, 'Here's the income that Illinois handles differently'.  On that screen, scroll to the Education section and click Start beside College savings and prepaid tuition plan contributions to enter your information.
