How do I delete or restart that turbotax thinks I recharacterized my ira? I unchecked the ira boxes and deleted them. When i go to fill out again it has kept my rechar.

Try to delete the form.

Open your return in TurboTax. 

• In the left side bar, select Tax Tools> Tools.
• In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
• Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet and follow the onscreen instructions

I ended up having to go back to the trad ira check box and when being asked the question again say "no".  Just unchecking the box did not delete the form.
