How do I code my 401k distribution as a Hardship withdrawal when filing?

    And there is no special coding for a hardship distribution.

    To enter an amount that qualifies for a particular penalty exception, go to Other Tax Situations -> Additional Tax Payments -> Extra tax on  early retirement withdrawals.    General "hardship" is not an exception.
