How do I classify my employment if I am retired and receiving SSA-1099 and 1099-R for my pension?

as previously mentioned, I am retired and collecting social security and pension. How to I classify my employment status, there is no option for this in the menu.

Unemployed or retired. You should be able to just type in retired. Your employment status does not affect your federal return in anyway other than the type of income you will enter. If this is on the state section you are being asked this question, which state are you filing for?
