You are taxed the same way everyone else is ... if you have enough taxable income then you will pay taxes. Complete a return to see if you owe or get a refund.
You are not taxed any differently. If you are 65 or older you get an extra higher Standard Deduction.
For 2019 the Standard Deduction is
Joint 24,400+ 1,300 for each 65 and over or blind
Married filing Separate 12,200 + 1,300 for 65 and over or blind
Up to 85% of Social Security becomes taxable when all your other income plus 1/2 your social security, reaches:
Married Filing Jointly: $32,000
Single or head of household: $25,000
Married Filing Separately: 0
