My son is 17 and received a w2 form for $1054.00 for 2016. He paid: $66.44 federal, $65.35 social security and $15.28 Medicare with no NYS taxes deducted. Does he need

to file a return.  I also claimed him as a dependent as he is a senior in HS

He is not required to file since he is well below the income threshold (unless he wants his $66 refund)
