Hi,
I find this so confusing ~ I am using the desktop version of Turbo Tax but I want to make sure I do this correctly.
I lived in the state of GA 7 years ago. I now live in the state of PA. I took an early retirement withdrawal from a 401A and closed the account in 2022 while living in PA. This account was funded with pre-tax dollars - therefore the state of GA didn't get their tax money from it.
I have received conflicting information ~ some say I do not have to file a GA non-resident return and some say I do. Some say I have to file with GA first and then I will get a credit from PA. Which is it?
Do I need to file a non resident return with the state of GA for the funds I withdrew or do I only file with the state of PA or do I have to file with both states?
Please help! Thank you for your time in looking into helping me with this question.

No, you don't need to file non-resident GA return. Your retirement income is only taxed by your resident state.
Thank you for your time in answering my question ~ twice! I have had so much information that was different and contradicting, I wasn't sure what to do!
