Why do you think you would not pay Social Security tax?

Yes, you will pay social security tax on wages reported on your W-2,  The tax will be withheld by your employer and sent to the social security department.  If you have self-employment over $400 you will be required to pay social security tax on that income. This TurboTax link will guide you through the process of paying your self-employment tax.  How do I report income from self-employment?

Or are you asking if you pay Federal taxes on your Social Security benefits?   Yes, if your total income exceeds a certain amount.  But no more than 85% of them are taxable.  State taxation of Soc Sec benefits varies.

@morgan50  Enter the SSA-1099 in Federal > Wages and Income > Retirement > Social Security.  The program will calculate the taxable amount.
