Can you take an RMD for a self-directed traditional IRA account from another tradtional IRA account or must the RMD come directly from the self-directe account?

You can take the RMD from one account as long as the total withdrawal is the sum of both RMD’s.

when you have multiple traditional IRA accounts, you choose which one(s) to take the money from.
This does not work for Inherited IRAs, or for 401k accounts.

Thank you for your helpful response. I was not sure if a self-directed IRA was like a 401k or inherited IRA and needed to be teated separatedly from other IRA accounts.
