Can I delete the RET line (pre tax non elective employee and employer contribution to retirement) from box 14 on my W2? There is no proper category for this.

This year my employer reported pre tax non elective employee and employer contribution to retirement in box 14 for which there is no appropriate category and New York State has rejected my efile because of this. Can I simply remove this line from box 14 in order to efile since this is pre-tax non-elective contributions?

Yes, since these were not elective contributions to a Retirement Plan, you don't need to enter Box 14 in TurboTax when entering your W-2.

Box 14 is an 'info' area where employers can put details for the employee's information.
