My wife had a kid last yer, we are unsure if she received state PFL. She has code J for box 12 and an amount. Is that PFL? The payment is from our insurance company.

Box 12 Code J is nontaxable sick pay and will be handled appropriately in your returns. There's nothing else for you to do about that.
