No, you are not in trouble, but you need to amend your tax return after your original return is processed. The amendment software is not ready yet, but you can use this link once it is ready. You have until 04/15 to do this.

I made unnecessary state extension payments in 2023 for 2022, resulting in refunds. Shouldn't those refunds be netted against the extension payments?
