How do I report a 1099-D that was income from selling a portion of my land?

What kind of 1099?  Is it a 1099S for sale or a 1099Div?  There are lots of 1099 forms but I don’t think there is a plain 1099-D one.  Or do you mean it should go on Schedule D for sales?

There is no form 1099-D. Please look more carefully at the form that you received and tell us exactly what the form number is.

It is actually a 1099-S and I was told it needs to be filed in schedule d?

Enter it as an investment sale. Click:

• Wages & Income
• I'll choose what I work on

On the Your 2023 Income Summary page, scroll down to the Investment Income section and click the Start or Update button for Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other. On the screen that asks the investment type, click Other.
