I filed my taxes with Turbotax in March.  I was sent a letter telling me that they needed more information and to call them.  I did that and was told that they had all they needed and my refund would be coming within 9 weeks.  I have since received a letter saying that my return is being reviewed and that they need up to 60 days.  I have gotten two more letters saying they need another 60 days.  I have tried calling the numbers they gave me but cannot get through. I am retired and my return is simple.  What can I do to get my refund

You may want to contact a Taxpayer Advocate in your area.  See this IRS website for Taxpayer Advocate - https://www.taxpayeradvocate.irs.gov/ or call 1-877-777-4778

    1. If the IRS has blown past its own timeline, or the delay is causing genuine financial hardship (rent, utilities, medical bills), contact the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) ↗ at 877-777-4778.
    2. Contact your local IRS Taxpayer Assistance Office TAC office finder
    3. Contact the office of your Congresional RepresentativeFind your rep

have the paperwork handy when contacting any of them

one other thing you might do is to go online to see if your account transcript is available. there will be certain codes that might identify the issue. Also make sure that you responded to any req2uest for additional information contained in the notices.
