National guard or reserve annual training and drill pay: would I put box 1 on my w-2?
No, Box 16
Hawaii does not tax the first $6,279 received by each member for service in the reserve components of the army, navy, air force, marine corps, coast guard of the United States of America, and the Hawaii national guard. If you qualify, enter the smaller of:
- $6,279, or
- Your pay, as shown on Form W-2 (W2), Box 16 sent to you by your reserve component
